Praying Through the War

As Israel faces war and Jewish people around the world find themselves defending our right to have a homeland...defending our right to exist, one may feel overwhelmed or helpless.
Social media has never been less friendly to Jewish people. You may have lost friends as you stand firm as an unashamed Jewish man or woman. You may feel heartbroken as people you thought were allies have turned their backs. You may find your thoughts during the day turning toward the hostages still in Gaza.

Israel is at war and it's a physical and spiritual one. While we pray for the IDF and ask G-d to bring the hostages home safely, we as believers in Yeshua know that our hope lies in Him and not what any person made of flesh and blood can do.
Fix your eyes on the One whose name means salvation. Pray.
Sha'ul (Paul) in his letter to the church in Philippi said:
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Messiah Yeshua." Philippians 4:6-7
Each time you think about Israel, turn any worries or anxieties into a prayer. Ask G-d to cover Zion and protect its people around the world.
When you think about the hostages, instead of drowning in understandable sorrow, ask G-d to reveal Yeshua to them. Ask Him for their captors to be filled with mercy and come to faith, too. Ask G-d to fill them with hope, give them healing, and come back home safely.
When you're online and finding yourself defending Jewish people or Israel, pray for the people making inflammatory posts. Pray for the world to wake up to the truth about Israel and more importantly, who Yeshua is.

Our prayer for you is peace during this difficult time. Peace for your mind and for your soul as you keep your heart fixed on our Messiah, Yeshua.
