Prayer for the President

The Bible tells us to pray for our leaders.

"I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity."

2 Timothy 2:1-2

President Trump needs our prayers. Only God knows if he knows Jesus or if the gospel is still unfolding in His heart. Either way, he has been raised up for such a time as this and needs the body of Christ to lift him up.

If you have been wanting to pray for the president, but need help finding the words, here is a prayer.

Prayer for President Trump

Heavenly Father,

We lift up President Donald Trump. It was you who spared his life each time that the enemy tried to take it. You raised him up for these times for Your purposes. We see how you have already used him. Hell might be angry, but You alone have the final say.

Lord, he needs You. We ask that you would give him godly wisdom, godly, Holy Spirit-filled advisors who are around him for no other reason but to help him hear You more clearly and grow in his faith.

Give him a desire for Your Word. Fill him with your Spirit. Remove anything in him not of you and create a clean heart in him.

Protect the seeds of faith that You've planted in his heart. May they continue to grow and bear great fruits of the Spirit.

If he does not know You, we pray that Jesus would reveal Himself to him. Show him that there is forgiveness in Christ and that all who humble themselves before Christ are made new creations.

We pray that the president would know Jesus as Lord and be assured of his salvation.

May every single plan of the enemy against him be exposed and fail. If there are betrayers or snakes in his camp, may they be exposed and dismissed in Jesus' name.

Protect his heart, mind, and body from evil and sickness. You alone renew our strength and we pray you would do that for him. May his strength and sharpness of mind be supernaturally supported as he does the work You have called him to.

We pray that this president would carry out your will in a Christlike fashion and know he can only do that with You. Father, give him what he needs to do Your perfect will on this earth.

Protect his family, children, and bless his life. May all of his loved ones be saved and give their lives to Jesus. As he draws nearer to You, we know Your promise of drawing nearer to him and thank You for it.

May his life serve as an open testimony of Your goodness, love, and faithfulness. Father, help the body of believers to show him what Jesus in our actions toward him. May he see the Savior in us and know he has a kingdom family.

Thank You for showing us that You look at the heart of a person and will use anyone willing to stand up and be used by You.

Thank You for hearing our prayers. Thank you for being the Master of the Universe and holding each day in Your hands. In Jesus' name we pray,
